1Password uses a dual-key encryption model:

Secret Key + Account Password - Two independent secrets are required to decrypt data. Even if an attacker learns the password, without the Secret Key the vault remains unusable.
Zero-knowledge architecture - 1Password cannot read your data. Even in the event of a server-side breach, the information remains encrypted.
SRP (Secure Remote Password) - Your password is never sent to the server, not even in encrypted form.
End-to-end encryption - Data is encrypted on your device before it is sent, and decrypted only locally.

Result: Even in the worst-case scenario, your secrets remain protected.
